PCI 1100 Series

The PCI 1100 provides a 32-bit 33/66 MHz PCI bus interface that supports signaling at 3.3 or 5 volts. This high-speed PCI bus interface supports up to 2 Gbps throughput, and allows the card to operate at the higher bus speeds supported by ImageStream's Gateway Express and Enterprise Express.

The PCI 1100 takes advantage of the Wintegra WinPath 777 NPU. The 777 includes an integrated MIPs processor for board control and protocol processing, as well as a packet processing pipeline with four 200 MHz processing cores. The NPU is fully programmable, and can take advantage of new protocols and software features as they are developed.

Another important feature of the PCI 1100 is its modular fiber optic transceivers. The PCI 1100 uses SFP pluggable transceivers so each port can be configured to support any of the available fiber optic interfaces. Pluggable SFP transceivers include multi-mode fiber for short haul applications, intermediate reach single mode fiber for distances up to 15 km, and long reach single mode fiber for distances up to 25 km.
